The cover and first five pages of Heroine Rises Chapter 12 are up and ready to read!

In this chapter, Juliette and Julian argue over the safety of Madeline's strange methods while Madeline questions Irene on Robert and her past. Things are going well until a certain visitor barges into the Coastal Swamp.

Commentary

During the creation of these first few pages, I encountered a problem.

The pages are coming along too slowly and I feel that I'm spending more time working in the digital realm of things. I really didn't want to change Heroine Rises to a fully digital workflow because I am weirdly attached to the traditional element in Heroine Rises. I've also invested quite a bit into the tools needed to make it. I grappled with this issue for a while but I can't really avoid the inevitable.

While I really love traditional and if I had the patience and energy to work on Heroine Rises for as long as I wanted - I wouldn't change a thing.

However, since time is a limited resource and I really want to move forward in the story and comic creation in general...

I've decided to make Heroine Rises a fully digitally produced comic from now on.

Over the past months, I've been practicing with digital art and am trying my best to make Heroine Rises look like Heroine Rises. It's been a struggle but I've reached a point where I feel confident in the product I'm creating and am excited to learn what tools and tricks I can use to make my art reach another level.

The speed in creating pages has been the biggest benefit. I'm still a bit disappointed that Heroine Rises couldn't stay traditional but I really appreciate what I've learned during that era. It just wasn't meant to be.

Anyway, next point.

Heroine Rises Remaster

What ever happened to the Chapter 1 Remaster you promised?

Well, it was in the works but it's taken a backseat for the longest time. However, now that these pages are done, I'm going to be working on the remaster. That will be the next release on the site. Despite the speed benefits that digital gives me - this original script for Chapter 1 is much longer than the one that is up now. Therefore, it will take time to release. Don't expect anything soon but be aware that I am working on something and am taking the time to make it the best that I can.

From there, we might remaster other Chapters... or finish up Chapter 12. I'm not entirely sure.
